Fraudulent job postings

Muster is the job posting platform for QED and its pillars. This policy explains how we handle publicly advertised job postings that may be fraudulent.

What we treat as fraudulent

A posting made with intent to deceive — for example, advertising a position that does not exist in order to collect personal information, charge fees, or commit identity theft. Honest mistakes are corrected, not treated as fraud.

How to report

Use the report form, linked in the footer of every page and on every job posting. Reports may be anonymous.

What happens next

  • Every report is logged and assigned to the platform administrators and the responsible pillar's hiring team.
  • A posting under credible suspicion is taken offline while it is investigated.
  • Confirmed fraudulent postings are removed and, where appropriate, referred to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre or police.
  • If you left an email address, we tell you the outcome.

Things we will never ask for

We never charge application fees, never ask for banking details, SIN or payment before a written offer, and only contact you from QED or pillar email domains.

Record keeping

We keep each version of this policy for three years after it stops being in effect.
